Västra stranden is not an official bathing area. Therefore, the beach is popular with dog owners all year round. The beach is close to the centre of Halmstad and you can easily reach it by taking Prince Bertil’s Trail, for example.
Västra stranden is a wide sandy beach, approximately 1.2 km long, making it attractive and popular both with families with children and four-legged friends.
Activities and relaxation
There are plenty of options if you want to be active at Västra stranden. The Söderpiren pier is on the beach. Here, you can hire equipment for a variety of water sports such as wakeboarding, stand up paddleboarding, windsurfing and wave surfing. After an active day, we recommend sitting down at the Söderpiren Café or taking a dip in their hot tub. All year round, Västra stranden is ideal for long walks along Prince Bertil’s Trail, which passes through the entire beach.
Bathing with dogs
At Västra stranden, which is a natural beach, your dog can swim all year round. Keep in mind that the water is not tested. Do you want to find out about more beaches where you and your dog can take a dip together? We have created a guide about bathing with dogs.
