Skånskan at Bankgatan 1
The beautiful half-timbered house at Bankgatan 1, with its yellow plaster and red wooden beams, is believed to have been built during the second half of the 18th century. The property, located in the Bastionen district, is known for its charmingly leaning walls. The area is home to several historic buildings.
In the early 1930s, the Sandström sisters moved in from Skåne and began running the bakery and pastry shop Skånskan. In the 1960s, the business expanded to include a chocolate workshop. For a period, a clothing store was also located on the upper floor. When the clothing store closed in 1991, the pastry shop—with its bakery and chocolate workshop—took over the entire building.
